Tom Hines, Director
Tom has spent the past 18 years in Los Angeles, twelve of which he spent working for writer/producer/actor/director Garry Marshall. Alleged is his second film as a director. His first film, Chronic Town, made its World Premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in 2008. Tom is married to Lauri LaBeau (who produced and acted in Chronic Town) and they have a 17-month old son, Brady, and a newborn. Tom grew up in Holliston, MA and graduated from Boston College.
Fred Foote, Producer and Co-writer
Fred is a graduate of Cornell University and Harvard Law School. He has spent the majority of his professional career in banking and finance but took time off to co-write (with Brian Godawa, To End All Wars) and produce "alleged", his first screenplay and first foray into producing films. Prior to Alleged, Fred invested in the distribution of both The Passion of the Christ and Bella. He lives with his wife, Theresa, and three of their six children in Haslett, MI (the other three now in college or working).
Brian Godawa, Co-writer
Brian Godawa is the screenwriter for the award-winning feature film, To End All Wars, starring Kiefer Sutherland. He is currently slated to direct his horror script, Descent of the Gods for Golden Leaf Pictures. He previously adapted to film the best-selling novel The Visitation by author Frank Peretti for Ralph Winter (X-Men, Wolverine), and wrote and directed Wall of Separation, a PBS documentary and Lines That Divide, a documentary on stem cell research. Mr. Godawa's scripts have won multiple awards in respected screenplay competitions over the years, and his articles on movies and philosophy have been published around the world. His book, Hollywood Worldviews: Watching Films with Wisdom and Discernment has been released in a revised edition from InterVarsity Press.
Yiannis Samaras, Director of Photography
Yiannis is a member of the International Cinematographers Guild. He began film work in his native Greece and has been working in the film industry in the US for over twenty years. Yiannis has worked with our director before, serving as the Cinematographer on Chronic Town. He has done work on TV's Nip/Tuck, and on such films as Bulworth and Daddy Day Care. He graduated from the American Film Institute with a Master's Degree, and has also done work in theater as a lighting designer as well as work as a fine art photographer.
Marthe Pineau, Production Designer
Marthe has a background in fine art and theater. She has been decorating sets for almost twenty years, getting her start in TV (Matlock) before moving into film. Marthe's credit list includes The Crow, Anna Karenina, The Gift, Because of Winn-Dixie, Idlewild, and Death Sentence.
Luis Colina, Editor
Luis was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. He came to the US in 1980 and received his MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute in 1983. He started in the film industry as an apprentice editor on several critically acclaimed films such as Amadeus, Blue Velvet, The Right Stuff and The Black Stallion. His talent was quickly recognized and he was soon working as an assistant picture editor and sound editor on such films as The Mosquito Coast, Willow, Unbearable Lightness of Being, Dead Poets Society, Wild At Heart, The Godfather: Part III, Maverick and The Scarlett Letter.
As a picture editor, Luis has completed more than 30 features in the past 25 years including The Hudsucker Proxy, Trial By Jury, The Color of Night, The Last Supper, The Whole Wide World, Finding Graceland, Another Day in Paradise, and Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights. For Television he has edited the series Entourage, So NoTORIous, and Sordid Lives, as well as the TV features The Long Ranger, Almost a Woman, One Hot Summer and, most recently, the Academy Award Nominee for Best Documentary, La Corona.
